Sheboygan County Quilters Guild
SCQG 26th Annual Quilt Show
Saturday September 25, 2010
9:00 to 4:00
This year marks the 26th quilt show that our guild has held and it’s still only $4.00 to attend.

We will display over 250 quilts made by our members, in 18 different categories. You can be a part of the “viewers choice” judging of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each category.

Ribbons will be given out at about 3:00.
We will have a raffle of about 20 quilted items, made from guild challenge blocks. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 and can be purchased from a guild member or at the show. The raffle takes place about 3:45. You do not need to be present to win.

A bed turning with the theme “Quilts made for a Celebration” will take place at 10:00 and 2:00. Come to see how our members commemorated special occasions in their lives throughout the years.

Make sure to stop at the guild’s “Boutique Resale Booth” for1000’s of items such as patterns, equipment, books, magazines, quilting and sewing supplies all at bargain prices. You’re sure to find the one item you need.
Check out the on going demonstration of antique sewing machines. This will give you an appreciation of the technology our ancestors had available.

Our “Challenge Blocks” for this year will be on display for you to judge also. The theme is “Stars”, a tribute to our charter members, our “Stars”.

The entrance of the show will have a display of about 50 “At-risk Baby Quilts” made by members in just the last months. These are then donated to the Neonatal Unit of Sinai Samaritan Hospital in Milwaukee. A project we’ve done for over 20 years with over 2500 quilts donated.

In addition to these guild activities we will have 11 shops vending with a variety of quilting items, books, kits and fabrics . . . . . .
plus a scissors sharpening service.

For the first time our show will have a Massage Chair to relax you after a few hours of shopping and viewing fatigue.

Appraisal times still available!!!
Two Quilt Appraisers will be available to look at your quilt and give an oral appraisal for $20.00 or a written one for $40.00. Contact June Smasal for an appointment at 920-894-2867. Walk-ins will be taken if time is available.

The members of South Side Alliance Church will serve a lunch, deserts and refreshments through out the day.
The quilt show is our only fund-raiser of the year, which provides the funds for the baby quilts and quilting programs for members and others. It also allows us to promote the guild and it’s members’ skills.
